Memorial Day has officially kicked off summer vacation in Southern Utah. To celebrate, we, at the Lodge at Red River Ranch, thought we’d publish a list of some of the upcoming activities of summer. Come check out all the amazing things we do in Capitol Reef Country.
June 2, Saturday – From 11 am to 1 pm you can commemorate the 10th anniversary of Scenic Byway 12 – one of the greatest scenic routes of which we know – in the town of Escalante. Lunch, games, and entertainment are promised. Click here for more info.
June 2, Saturday – The kick-off date to Entrada Institute’s Saturday Sunset Series. According to the institute, “Every Saturday from 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm, you can enjoy engaging, entertaining, and educational programming related to the historical, cultural, and scientific heritage of the Colorado Plateau.”
June 29, Friday – Join the new relay race, the Top of Zion Relay Race, which stretches 194 miles through the most scenic parts of Southern Utah. Top of Zion Relay Race takes place over the course of two days. Teams of 12 compete as they run from Capitol Reef National Park to Zion National Park. Click here for more info.
July 7, Saturday – Come see one of Wayne County’s best traditions – Torrey Apple Days. Torrey Apple Days is a small town Independence Day celebration. Events include a parade, a flea market, an adult dance, and great music. It’s everything you could want for a Fourth of July party. Click here for more info.
July 20-21, Friday and Saturday – The annual Bicknell International Film Festival takes place. This year’s theme: “Duck and Cover.” Come experience the best of bad doomsday cinema. Click here for more info.
August 25, Saturday – Every year bicycling enthusiasts come to Wayne County to compete in the Capitol Reef Classic. The Capitol Reef Classic welcomes all experience levels, so come enjoy a great race and amazing views. Click here for more info.
