Nature, Outdoor adventures, Travel

One of the best parts about Utah is its amazing geological diversity. Travelling a few miles in any direction will prove this point. Green River State Park, Labyrinth Canyon, and Flaming Gorge are an example of changing views over a short geographical space. The scenery is only one reason to visit this popular Utah summer vacation spot; the other is, of course, fun.

Green Valley State Park is the perfect launching point for a family rafting trip. The Green River is gentle enough for the youngest water enthusiasts, but fun enough to give more experienced rafters a good time. Rental companies have inflated rubber rafts to rent for a fairly inexpensive fee. You are also welcome to bring your own raft, kayak, or canoe for a day on the river.

A water-rafting trip on the Green River will take you down Labyrinth Canyon. Labyrinth Canyon is considered part of the Canyon Country district of Southern Utah. This means you are guaranteed impressive scenery. Floating down the river, surrounded by the canyon walls and friends and family is a memory making experience.

Flaming Gorge is one of Utah’s best boating lakes; no serious trip to Green River Valley should be without a stop to Flaming Gorge. Cliff jumping, tubing, water skiing, and personal watercraft riding are the perfect recipe for a day of fun. For the fisherman, Flaming Gorge offers some quiet canyon areas where you can catch large sized lake trout.

A weekend visit to Green Valley State Park, Labyrinth Canyon, and Flaming Gorge is a weekend well spent. We, at the Lodge at Red River Ranch, encourage you to check out this diverse water system, and make some memories in the process.
