In case you haven’t noticed, the recent snowfall has us thinking about winter fun. And while it may be a bit early in the season, we wanted to talk about our two favorite ski resorts in Southern Utah. Brian Head and Eagle’s Point ski resorts are the perfect places to spend a day in the snow.
Since we love skiing so much, we at the Lodge at Red River Ranch thought we should give you some information about both of these resorts – Brian Head and Eagle Point – to help get you motivated to hit the slopes.
Location – Eagle’s Point is located near Beaver, and Brain Head is located in Parowan (near Cedar City.) Both are situated in south-central Utah along the I-15 corridor and are only 40-miles apart. If you are coming from Las Vegas, you will reach Brian Head Resort first. And if you are coming from Salt Lake, you will reach Eagle’s Point first.
Price – Eagle’s Point charges $25 for an adult day pass Monday through Thursday. And $48 Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Brian Head’s standard non-holiday fee is $54. Both resorts offer season passes with significant savings. If you by a pass before December 1st, you can save even more.
Trails – Both ski resorts have some pretty awesome trails. Here are the stats. Eagle’s point contains 40 ski and snowboard runs, with 45% classified as advanced/expert. They also have a terrain park and two tubing hills. Check out the trail map here. Brain Head has 65 ski and snowboard runs, with 30% in the advanced/expert category. In addition, Brian Head has a six-lane tubing park complete with lift service. They also have a two terrain parks. You can check their trail map here.
Brian Head is the older, and thus more developed of the two parks, but we like them both. So if you want to get out and play in the powder, with plenty of sunshine and scenery… We hope to see you on the slopes.
